Dani Carvajal is close to signing a new contract with Real Madrid, according to .
The right-back is currently bound to the club until the summer of 2022, but under the terms of the proposed new deal, his stint with the Spanish giants should be extended by two years, keeping him there until he turns 32.
Carvajal is a complete product of Real Madrid, having joined their youth setup at the age of 10, though he did spend the 2012/13 season at Bayer Leverkusen. He has represented Real at senior level a total of 282 times so far, and this extension represents an act of acknowledgement of his loyalty, past and present, as well as belief in it for the future.
Carvajal is currently recovering from a medial collateral ligament injury. He has already missed several games with Lucas Vazquez (mostly) selected to deputize on the right defensive flank, and he isn t expected back in training before December.
