Hull City defender James Chester has agreed a new three-year deal with the club as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old joined the club in 2011 from Manchester United after spells out on loan at Peterborough and Carlisle.
The centre-half had generated interest from Aston Villa, but he has finally decided to pledge his future to Hull in a move that will be a relief to manager Steve Bruce.
It s nice to get the paperwork out of the way, he told the club s official website.
I m happy here and I ve got a great relationship with the rest of the lads. I also enjoy living in this area.
This is the perfect situation.
Chester played 48 games for Hull in their promotion-winning season as well as scoring one goal.
